21st Annual July 4th Parade

On Sunday, July 4, from 10-11 AM, Sea Island will hold the 21s Annual July 4 Parade!   During the parade, Sea Island Drive will be temporarily closed from approximately 9:45-11:15 AM between the Security Gate and 5th Street.

You can participate on foot, bikes, golf carts, vintage cars, floats and strollers.  Be creative! Pets are welcome, too.  Parade participants will line up near the Back Banks River Bridge at 9:15.

GA Power work on the Drive

Georgia Power performed maintenance work along the Drive in early June. While the bulk of the wok has been completed, there are still some detours and rough areas on the sidewalk where they had to remove sections of the sidewalk in order to access utilities.  Please use caution when biking or walking on the sidewalk.

TURTLE SEASON IS HERE!

From May 1-October 30, Loggerhead turtles wills be nesting on the Sea Island beach and hatchlings will be making their trip to the ocean. All those in ocean-front residences should turn off exterior lights at night, as bright lights confuse the turtles and can disrupt nesting. Please keep your distance from nesting turtles as well as from nests marked by yellow stakes, and keep your dogs leashed and away from the nests as well. Should you wish to learn more about the turtles, sponsor a nest, or take a Sea Turtle Dawn Patrol or Night Walk, please contact the Sea Island Nature Center at 912-634-4499.
